Umbilical Stem Cells Are Changing Lives!

Hello and welcome to our page! There is a form of blindness known as optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH), which is the 2^nd leading cause of blindness in children in the United States today.  My wife, Brandi, was born with this condition, which has caused her to be legally blind since birth.  This form of blindness does not improve or worsen and is not hereditary.  Brandi has 20/400 visual acuity in her right eye, which means what someone with normal vision sees from 400 feet Brandi would have to be 20 feet away from.  Brandi only has light perception in her left eye.  She reads with an 8x magnifier, which has to be 1 inch from the book or paper.  Many daily activities are a challenge for Brandi such as transportation and cooking but she overcomes and does not let this stop her.  We have 2 children and my dream for my wife is for her to one day see just how beautiful our children’s faces are.  Her dream is to read them a book and help them learn to read and maybe even drive them to soccer practice; things she never thought she’degrees have a chance at doing. 

Since birth doctors have told Brandi there would not be a cure or any sort of treatment to improve or cure her condition within her lifetime, as the optic nerve is so tiny and is surrounded by thousands of other nerves.  Yet, recently we discovered a treatment being performed in China using umbilical stem cells for ONH and many other conditions.  Of course we were skeptical, but Brandi was determined to learn as much as she could and decide for herself.  After much research, Brandi realized she needed to talk to other people that had gone so she did just that.  She has spoken to many and knows this is a real treatment with real results.  There are a couple of teenagers with the exact visual acuity as Brandi that are now no longer legally blind and driving and many others that have sight now when they had none before.  The treatment has a 90% success rate with ONH and a 70% success rate overall.
